Nuvio is a unique, first-of-its-kind Quorum Sensing Inhibitor (QSI) developed to prevent microbiome disruption or dysbiosis, while increasing profitability in pig production.
The gut microbiome is important for nutrient digestion and absorption, as well as the development and initiation of the immune system.
Microbiome disruption can result in economic losses from poor efficiency, stress, reduced growth performance and dysbiosis. Dysbiosis is characterised by a disruption to the microbiome, resulting in an unbalanced microbiota, changes to their functional composition and metabolic activities, or a shift in their local distribution. It is not uncommon for weaning piglets to display signs of dysbiosis when transitioning from milk to solid feed.
The unique biopeptides in Nuvio protect the microbiome against disruption, without the use of antibiotics, to improve the health of pigs. The unique mode of action, known as QSI interrupts cell to cell communication between harmful bacteria, supressing their ability to induce disease.
Nuvio is administered through the drinking water for a period of 10 days.
