The awards highlight local companies who have made a significant impact on the local economy through innovation. The prize was presented at the awards ceremony at the House of Commons on 21st April.
In the past year Devenish has won 2 awards for our products, DeviGainPG won best new product at Pig and Poultry Fair whilst Progut® won top nutritional product at AgriScot in 2014.
DeviGainPG, a unique concentrated protein which among other benefits has improved the growth rate of Pigs by up to 5% while at the same time reducing the amount of soya consumed by the Pig; and Progut®, a feed ingredient for dairy cows which increases the milk yield while also improving somatic cell score.
Along with the benefits in the efficiency in the livestock, DeviGainPG and Progut® have additional benefits. They reduce greenhouse gas emissions through ammonia, urine and faeces, helping the wider environment.
