Regulatory Support

Based in Belfast, we are a leading provider of environmental, animal and human health solutions and a key influencer in driving health and sustainability throughout the food chain. Devenish has four manufacturing sites in the UK and four in the United States, from where they supply innovative nutritional solutions and technical expertise to producers through the farm, feed and food industry in the UK, Ireland, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Australasia and Latin America

The Role

Reporting to the Regulatory Compliance Manager, the successful candidate will work within the Technical and Regulatory team. This role is fixed term for six-months.

Responsibilities:

Safety Data Sheet Administration

• Assist with the creation of entries for new raw material and updates of existing products
• Assist with the preparation of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) using approved software.
• Full SDS administration
• Substance reviews: Ensure that any phrase libraries, databases or other sources utilised by software are up to date

Poison Centre Notifications – EU and GB

Regulatory Support

• Assist with the raw material approval process (including initial COSHH assessment and supplier approval). Ensure effective document control and referencing.
• Assist with technical data sheet issuing, version control and maintenance.
• Assist with safety site walks.
• Respond to technical queries and liaise with internal and third parties, as needed, including: regulatory statements and queries relating to SDSs and CLP.

Formulations

• Supporting our Technical and Nutrition teams with the administration of diet formulation for manufacturing of products for both domestic and international markets.
• Liaising with internal departments and external parties to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Creating product and label specifications whilst complying with current legislation.
• Other requirements required by management in support of legal requirements and improvement projects.

Essential Criteria:

• Degree in Chemistry or one of the STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and work under pressure
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel
• Excellent work ethic with the ability to show initiative, work on their own and as part of a team
• Full driving licence and access to a car
• Prepared to travel to various sites
• Right to work in the UK

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience within a Manufacturing environment associated with animal feed / premixture production
• Experience of SDS authoring including use of SDS software systems (e.g. LISAM)
• Experience with Bestmix (or similar recipe management system) and Navision
