Quality Sampling and Testing Technician

Devenish has three manufacturing sites in the UK and four in the United States, from where they supply innovative nutritional solutions and technical expertise to producers through the farm, feed and food industry in the UK, Ireland, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Australasia and Latin America.

The Role

This role will be a key member of Quality and Technical team, responsible for material/product sampling and testing on site.

Main duties include:

• Full sample preparation – including collection of samples, using databases / software, recording, and completing relevant paperwork
• Routine sample analysis
• Sample checks for non-conforming product, finished product, bulk raw materials and packaged material
• XRF and NIR testing and full recording process
• Assist with complaint investigations

Criteria:

• A minimum of 1 years’ previous experience in a similar role
• Degree or equivalent in a business-related discipline (desirable)
• GCSE Maths and English Grade C or above
• Working knowledge of NAV (desirable)
• Working knowledge of feed testing techniques
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work on own initiative and ability to work in a team
• Good analytical skills, numeracy accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent administration, organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and work under pressure
• Good IT skills including Microsoft packages
• Flexible and adaptable
• Right to work in the UK

• 37.5-hour week
• Salary £24,000 – £27,000 depending on experience.
