Factory Manager (Belfast Operations)

Headquartered in Belfast, Devenish are a leading provider of environmental, animal and human health solutions and a key influencer in driving health and sustainability throughout the food chain. Devenish has three manufacturing sites in the UK and four in the United States, from where they supply innovative nutritional solutions and technical expertise to producers through the farm, feed and food industry in the UK, Ireland, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Australasia and Latin America.

The Role

This role will be a key member of the Management team. The successful Factory Manager will be reliable, highly organised, trustworthy and play an important part of the management team, through the strategic management of the full Belfast operational site.

Main areas of responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the Belfast Operational process from end to end.
  • Developing and implementing innovative strategies to streamline factory operations.
  • Working collaboratively with the team, ensuring the safe and cost-effective operation of the Factory.
  • Ensuring that all site processes comply with the applicable accreditations and regulations.
  • Working in conjunction with the key decision makers to develop strategic plans and budgets to optimise and streamline operations.
  • Champion and drive the teams through your vision to enhance the lean and continuous improvement culture of the business.
  • Managing the implementation and running of new processes within the business.
  • Providing a clear and concise plan to support and make decisions regarding strategic investment on the site.
  • Working closely with the senior management team, to include regular meetings regarding company and staff performance.
  • You will manage but also support your management team to ensure they execute and deliver on operational objectives through effective leadership, whilst promoting a proactive attitude and creating a continuous improvement environment from which the team can strive for excellence.

Essential Criteria:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ previous experience in a similar role
  • Degree or equivalent in a business-related discipline
  • Lean Six Sigma formal qualification
  • Prince 2 or project management qualification
  • Health and Safety formal qualification (NEBOSH, or equivalent)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and ability to work in a team
  • Good analytical skills, numeracy accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent administration, organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and work under pressure
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft packages
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Right to work in the UK
